Gift for Dad

Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you all a box I made using the Tonic Dimensions Octagon Box and golfing themed Dies.

My dad loves playing Golf so I decided to make him a box with a golfing theme. He was delighted with his gift and the sweeties he found inside the box and it is now used to hide his secret stash of sweets or nuts from my mum !

I added some ink onto the edge of my Golf Balls and shaped them with a slight curve in my hand. I added Silicone Glue into the centre of the balls and some glue around the edges. This helped give a bevelled effect on them.

My golf tees have two layers glued together to also add more dimension.
My golf bag was cut out of textured paper and inked to give a leather effect adding my golf clubs cut from silver satin card.

I always like to decorate my boxes on the inside and underneath for a perfect finishing touch.

Hope you have a lovely creative week.

Vintage Herb Bottles - Craft Consortium

Hi everyone. Today for my Design Team post at CraftConsortium I have been creating once again with the beautiful collection called The Herbarium. I absolutely adore this collection and it is fast becoming a firm favourite to create with for me.

My project today is an up cycling one. I have been keeping a hold of my large empty vitamin bottles for sometime now knowing that one day I would find a use for them and when I saw the Herb Labels in the paper pad I knew they were perfect for it.

I chose which designs of papers I wanted to layer together around my bottles. I distressed and inked the edges adding in some die cut layers for extra detail and glued them together. Whilst they were still damp with the glue I shaped around my bottles to form a curve in the paper. This makes it far easier to then wrap around the bottle once dry in a curved shape. I gave my bottles a light sand with my sanding block where the papers were going so it would give my papers a firmer grip. I attached them with a mix of Scortape and Cosmic Shimmer Glue holding in place for a couple of minutes.

My tops were painted with Black Paint and the indentations were highlighted with Gilding Wax for an aged look.

Finishing my bottles with some Twine and the gorgeous brass charms.

My base was made using a Chipboard Sheet and was measured to fit my 3 bottles in. I glued this all in place to form my tray/box and added some Washi Tape around the joins to reinforce it. This part was then left to dry overnight. Once dry I painted black and added all my distressed and inked layers of paper onto my box.

Finishing with some brass feet which I added a touch of Gilding Wax to, which then complimented my lids and charms to bring the design all together.

Introducing The Herbarium - Craft Consortium

Hi everyone, today for my Design Team post at CraftConsortium I am very excited to be sharing my first card using the amazing new collection called The Herbarium by designer Katy Hackney. She has designed several beautiful paper pads and stamps for Craft Consortium but I think this has to be my new favourite collection from her.

I decided to make a gardening apron as the topper for my card. I cut this out from papers in my pad and using the stamps from the collection I stamped the word Herbs and flowers onto my apron. I also added some twine, lace, die-cut tools and finished my apron with the amazing brass scissors and trowel embellishments from the Herbarium collection.

I layered my papers tattering at the edges and adding some muslin between the layers. My garden pots have been die cut and heat embossed with Distress powder adding my cone flowers and foliage into them to compliment my paper.

Please do check out this wonderful collection HERE

To Mum on Mother’s Day

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a box I made for my mum on Mother’s Day using Tonic Studios and Cheery Lynn Dies and of course the beautiful Maja Design Papers.

The photo is of my mum, which she thinks was taken in her early twenties with her first Toy Poodle called Nikki. Doesn’t she look glamorous.

My flowers have all been handmade using my Dies and inks adding stamens into the centres.

Some photos for you to enjoy.
