Hello, lovely to have you stop by to see my DT post for A Vintage Journey today. Sorry I am behind with visiting your blogs at the moment but hope to catch up soon.
This time Nikki chose the theme 'Lets Celebrate' for our challenge. This runs for the next 2 weeks so I hope you have time to enter.
Please check out HERE where you will get all the details and see many inspiring
projects from my fellow team mates. You could also be the lucky winner of a £10
Shopping Spree at our Sponsors Countryview Crafts. They have free P & P and
lots of Tim's goodies, so well worth a look.
I adore crafting at Christmas Time especially Home Decor
items, so this was the perfect challenge for me. I had the idea to alter a
clock in Tim's style that I'd purchased from a bargain shop.
This is how the clock originally looked, before I pulled
the works out and gave it a sand.
Unfortunately I don't have on going photos of the next
stage as I started this one night I couldn't sleep, perhaps because my head was
full of Craft .
I placed a Holly Stencil on my clock with a
layer of Grunge paste. Once dry I added several shades of paint and some stamping
with Archival ink. Finally covering the whole clock in Rock Candy Distress
paint. Once dry I rubbed Distress ink into the cracks, a little distress stickles and stickles for berries.
I used corner die cuts here on the front of the clock and
gave the same treatment as above.
My tree is from Cheery Lynn and you build up all the
layers. I glued onto a coffee stirred and placed in a old craft lid with paper
clay.
My background was made from corrugated card, with a light
coat of Gesso, Glamour Dust and Distress Glitter and snowflake die. My TH Clock was given a coat
of Ferro paste and Treasure Gold to Highlight.
My TH Lamp Post was cut out in Chipboard, Ferro Paste
added, my acetate coloured, a stamped image and Poinsettia added along with
Flower Soft.
My TH deer was given Tim's new technique which you will find on Page 46
of his latest book. I also added some bells and beads.
My Christmas Arrangement was made using a mix of TH dies
and Cheery Lynn dies. My Reindeer were wooden shapes that I gave a coat of paint,
embossed with Red Tinsel and my Holly stamp. I then heat embossed 3 layers on
with clear powder. My deer are supported with coffee stirrers to help them
stand.
You will also see a Christmas arrangement and lots of
snow nestled with one of Tim's Christmas Relatives. I also have Icicles
dripping from the roof and my ever so cute TH Lantern.
On the back I added some decorative papers. And to finish my
clock lots of Stickles and Treasure Gold were added, for a Festive feel.
I do hope you have enjoyed my post and feel inspired to
enter our challenge.
I'd love if you had time to leave a comment.
Happy Crafting,
Julie x
