Hi Everyone, Today is rather an exciting day for all the Creative Guides at A Vintage Journey. Brenda came up with a wonderful idea that we would have a Secret Santa and exchange Craft Gifts. So all our names were put into a bag and Brenda let us all know who we would be gifting to. I was given our wonderfully talented Nikki.
Today is the big reveal day on A Vintage Journey, where
we all see what each other made and who we all gifted to. So please make sure
to check it out HERE.
I decided to make Nikki a Tree Decoration along with a
Decorated box for safe keeping.
My box was made using my Scorpal Board and and Kraft
Card. I stamped a variety of stamps with Archival ink, Distressed the edges and
gave a sprinkling of Frantage.
My Poinsettia's were coloured using Tim's new distress spray stains. The dies used here are from Cheery Lynn Designs.
You will also see I decorated the inside. My tag was die cut from a Magnolia die adding the same treatment to it as my box.
The Tissue Paper was also stamped and the letter N on the
little sticker.
My tree decoration was made with TH Pocket Watch die.
I
cut out in 4 layers of chipboard to achieve depth. Texture paste was applied
through my stencil. I then added a mixture of Antiqued Bronze and Brushed
Pewter Distress paints.
I rubbed over PaperArtsy French Roast with a baby wipe. I let it dry slightly then rubbed it back adding some Treasure Gold to finish the effect.
I placed some remnant rubs on my acetate to give more dimension.
My background was inked, stamped, Frantaged and the
tissue technique for my Robin. I placed some Flowers Soft Snow in before gluing
together.
Finally adding a little Tinsel and Snowflake charm I
added bling too.
I was absolutely delighted to learn from Nikki that she
adored her gift from me.
I also received my gift from Chris. She is very creative
and came up with the idea of a Poinsettia Candle Holder, isn't it beautiful.
It looks stunning
sitting on my Fireplace and has a beautiful warm flicker through the flowers
from an electric candle. It's a perfect gift for me as I love Yankee Candles and
will compliment my Christmas ornaments beautifully. Please check out Chris's blog to see how she made it.
Over at AVJ we would like to give everyone who enters our challenges and who follow our blog posts the chance of a Christmas gift and the nearest thing Brenda could think of doing is to offer our Christmas Give Away. This will be a lovely present to one lucky person. Pop over HERE to find out the details.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Julie x
