Memory Frame

Hi Everyone, today it's the turn of the Mixed Media Team to host the challenge at That Craft Place which is Mixed Media-Anything Goes. I had so much fun making my Shabby Chic Frame for the last challenge I decided to use my bits I had kept aside from my Printers Tray pack and make a Memory Frame with my daughters in it celebrating them passing all their exams to become Long Haul Cabin Crew. That Craft Place sell the most fabulous Laser Cut MDF and Greyboard and their latest travel pieces gave me the inspiration for my frame.

I started off by giving my frame a thick coat of Decoart Crackle Paint and once dry I gave a wash with black paint and rubbed in some Distress Stain with a baby wipe in Pewter and highlighted with Gilding Wax, the compass is from Cheery Lynn Designs.

My stars were embossed with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder and my planes with White Embossing Powder distressing the edges with a little Black Paint. I used Tim Holtz Correspondence Papers and stamped some more details onto the paper in Black Archival.

My suitcases I gave a wash with Picket Fence DP and highlighted the detail with a Fineliner and Gold pen. I sat the little cat on the top of the cases as they both miss their cats so much staying in London.

My Globe I used a Blue Copic for the sea and stamped texture on using Andy Skinners Industrial Stamp Set and Archival Ink. The land was heat embossed with Aged Green Frantage and the stand I heat embossed with Distress Powder, highlighting with some gilding wax.

I took a mould of my daughter's Wings Brooch with 2 step Silicone Putty and pressed in some paper clay, painting them with Silver. The trolley bag I coloured with Copics and heat embossed with Clear powder and added some computer generated words for the British Airways moto.

If you would love to see more of the laser cuts That Craft Place cut along with Deco Art, Ranger, Creative Expression etc. you can check them out by joining the Facebook link on my sidebar.

Thanks so much for your visit today.
