Tonic Studios - Concertina Dies

Hi everyone, I can finally share some amazing news with you all. I was recently contacted by Tonic Studios asking if I would like to share some inspiration using their newly launched Concertina dies, so of course I said YES.

These will be released on Create and Craft  today (Monday the 24th) at 10am and 3pm or alternatively at Create and Craft's website on catch up TV. I had so much fun with these Dies and can see a lot of potential in 3D designs with them.

This is the first of my makes which also uses Tonic Craft Perfect paper.

My second project I have made a small memory box, ideal for filing photographs or ephemera in.

My third project is a letter/memo rack using Craft Consortiums Herbarium and Wood Effects Papers. I remember my gran having a letter rack made of wood similar to this in design which gave me the idea to making this using the Concertina die.

Please do check out Tonic Studios on Facebook and Instagram to see all the inspiration from the team using these Dies.

The Potting Shed

Hi everyone, today for my design team post at Craft Consortium I am excited to share an up-cycling project using wooden packaging that contained a sauce bottle from Christmas time.

I started by adding some brown paint to all the edges of my box and then measured sections of paper from our Wood Textures pad and cut to size. Onto all these sections I stamped on my flowers and foliage.

My watering can was stamped and fussy cut out adding my stamped caterpillar and a little glossy accents to it. My flowers and butterfly I added a decoupaged layer for extra dimension. My spade is cut from the Metal Textures Pad for the handle and the base part was cut from cereal box and coloured with a silver Promarker finishing off with some Distress Powder to look like soil.

My plant pots have been cut again from the Metal Textures Pad and using the Stamp Set from The Herbarium Collection I stamped onto coffee stirrers. I filled with fussy cut foliage from The Herbarium Pad adding my gardening tools and some 3D moss for modelling.

My table was made from the Wood Textures Pad adding some more Distress Powder for soil, die cut gloves and metal embellishments also from The Herbarium Collection.

The windows were die cut again from the Wood Textures Pad adding some Satin Miri card behind them. My cat was die cut using the metal textures pad adding a shadow layer of dark grey behind it.

My roof was cut into rectangles from the Metal Textures Pad, inked at the edges and added on the roof to look like quarry tiles.

Some more photos to look at.

Altered Notebook for Craft Consortium

Hi everyone, today for my Design Team post at Craft Consortium I have made a cover for a small notebook using papers from The Herbarium Paper Pad and The Vintage Emporium Paper Pad.

I added some squiggly lines around the outside of my base layer of paper which is from The Herbarium Paper Pad to draw the eye into my design. Using the Vintage Emporium Paper Pad I diecut my  tag adding some lace onto it and fussy cut all my Ephemera inking and tattering at the edges.

Just stopping by to say Hello

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by today. For my Design Team post at Craft Consortium I am sharing some more inspiration using the amazing Essential Paper Pads

The pads I have used on this card are Tropical Paradise for my little fussy cut bird and the Grunge Tones pads both in Light and Dark Tones.

I started by matting and layering 2 tattered layers onto my card with foam strips for dimension, keeping the edges white to compliment my die cuts.

I continued to layer up my die cuts with foam strips onto my card and added some Dahlia flowers which were also die cut from my pad for the perfect complimenting tone.

Finishing with my sweet little Tropical bird, a Tonic sentiment strip and some small gems from Craft Consortiums Always and Forever Collection.
