For my DT post over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week I made a Thinking of You card which could easily adapt to many
different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.
I had a lot of fun making this card. I used the Square Classic to cut out
all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and
inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension
onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto
different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other
so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the
dies do the job for you.

Hi there Bloggers, My long awaited Wallflower paper pad arrived last week
and I couldn’t think of a better way to start using it than to enter Tim’s May
Tag here. This is my first time entering this so I am rather excited about the
whole thing, like everyone else I crave a BlogWorthy Link.
I read and re-read the instructions and decided I would work in reverse
making all my little tiles first and then decide on my background colour for my
tag. Although I have many products of Tim’s I still found myself missing a
lot of what he used but as Tim says it's your own artistic expression on the tag
that’s nice.
When Tim described the Tag and to use items you cherish I started to think
of things in my life that are precious to me and decided to express this
on my Tag along with a few crafty things I have been holding onto. My
inspiration is a sad story ..... My pregnant Siamese Cat 'Kizzy' many years ago
had to be rushed to the Vet as she started bleeding heavily, she ended up having
an emergency C- Section and 1 kitten survived. We brought them both home and I
had to hand rear her kitten as unfortunately with her being premature her mum’s
milk never came in. We named her 'Destiny' and I had to set my alarm for every 2
hours, day and night to drip feed her. It was a hard first few months for everyone helping but also very
rewarding and what a little character she grew in to. Sadly, she passed away at
the age of 4 because of under developed kidneys with being premature and I still
miss her so much after many years. My tag is based on the inspiration and memory
of her.
I didn’t have Tim’s new Shadowpress folders but really wanted to use
Destiny’s name on my tag so I cut out my Sizzix Wanted Alphabet strip (x2) and mounted my
Kraft paper rubbed with a little Black Soot Distress on edges onto the Black
cardstock at a slight angle to give the shadow effect.
My little heart I placed the Forget-me-Not into, which then inspired me to
make some little Forget-me-Not styled flowers on my tag. I used the little Star
rub-ons from the Botanical set to represent my little Star. I mounted all my
Tiles in the way Tim described to do and edged some with Distress ink and others
I double embossed with a Silver detail powder finally rubbing over a little
Archival Ink to age.
The Butterfly I layered twice. Top layer having distress inks on it and the
underneath I layered two colours of Distress Glitter onto it and edged with Black Soot Distress, as Destiny enjoyed playing with Sparkly
things. I didn’t at the time have Tim’s Industrial Stickers (on way to me as I
type this) so I cut and embossed a piece of Mirri card and rubbed on a little
Archival ink.
I used Rusty Hinge, Tumbled Glass and Black Soot stains and Ink on the base
of my Size 8 tag.

Hello there blogging friends and a warm welcome to my new followers. It's my
day to share my post over at Cheery Lynn designs and the challenge this week is
Make it Manly and with Father’s Day fast approaching here in the UK, I thought
it would be nice to share a masculine card with you.
I cut out the Steampunk Clock in black cardstock and also in gold mirri
card. I then paper pieced elements together to make the workings of the clock
stand out. I rubbed over my mirri card with a little Archival Ink to give it an
aged appearance. The clock die comes with a background circle die too, which is
a great idea as it really sets your clock off and makes it ‘pop’ on the page. I
cut my background out with kraft paper and added a little crackles and
distress.
The new Steampunk Corners are a fabulous accent to a card or scrapbook
page. I cut mine out in black cardstock and rubbed a little gilding wax over to
give a metallic look and complimented them with the gears die on my card which
were also cut out in mirri card.
I’m off to the Craft Fair at Ingliston, Edinburgh for some lovely retail

Hello Everyone, Today I am super excited to be sharing this post along with
Our Creative Corner in Top Talent Spotlight and hope you all enjoy looking at my box. I love when I have something that I can Upcycle and this box was perfect to
do so. It started off life as a Balsawood box that soaps had been gifted in and
I thought would be perfect to alter. My inspiration came from thinking I would
love my box to look like an old vintage box you would see in an Antiques shop
that already held a history from its previous owner.
I started off by giving it a coat of Gesso to seal it. Then onto my layers
of paint. I used several coats of Paperartsy and Distress paints continually
sanding back every few coats. This was to give the look of age to my box and as
if you were seeing through the years from all the layers. Eventually after many
layers I was finally happy with the appearance.
My Cherub is a La Blanche stamp, this and several other stamps were stamped
onto paper hankies with different colours of Archival ink. I then separated the
layers of tissue back so I only had the top layer. I tore around the
tissue of my stamped images rather than cutting the tissue with scissors – doing
it in this way stops you seeing the edges. I gradually added a layer of multi
medium onto my box to place my tissue images onto top and sealing over the top
of the tissue again with multi medium.
Once this stage was completed I stamped my flourish design and added
Gilding Flakes and added several coats of multi medium to seal it. My lace was
dipped into distress paint and a little Frantage and Distress Ink was added to
the edges. My Tim Holtz metal embellishments had a little paint rubbed over
them. I lined my box with some felt to finish it off.
My box now sits on my fireplace hearth and I hope you love it as much as I
