Cuties Card

Hello, Thanks for popping over to my blog today and a warm welcome to my new followers. This weeks Challenge at Cheery Lynn is Lots of Layers – how could I resist making a card using this theme for my DT spot.

I adore the versatility of the Cuties strips and decided to make a whole background out of the Cuties 1 today.

Using white cardstock I cut out several strips. I had the idea of giving my background an Ombre effect (light to dark) so after die cutting, I inked them all up with co-ordinating light and darker shades of Distress. Next step, I wove the strips together going forwards and backwards with my paper between the petals and aligning my rows up. Once completed I glued in place onto a layer of cardstock before layering onto my card. I hope you all love the result as much as I do.

You will notice wrapped around my centre image is also the Cuties strip. This time I mounted my inked strip onto the back of my image along with a little brown card to make my image ‘pop’. I then twisted the little petals back round with a pair of tweezers. I love this effect and each Cuties strip gives a different look when you do this.
My flower was cut out again from white cardstock and inked in the co-ordinating shades I had used in my background.

Have a lovely creative weekend and I’ll see you all next week and thanks for your continued comments, I really appreciate them.
