Monarch Butterfly

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing a card using a few dies from thier latest release and demonstrating that cutting accents off your dies and using the negative parts gives us many more options from a single die. So let me take you through my techniques with the dies on my card.

I started by tattering and inking the edges of my Stitched Stacker layer and tucked behind a lace die cut edging layering onto my patterned cardstock. If you look closely at the photo you will see my edging was obtained by trimming down the outer edge of the Fleur de Lis Square doily to get this effect,  the same die I used in the centre of my card.
For the centre doily, I cut this out in both patterned and white cardstock and mounted the patterned doily onto my card. I then placed all my white cardstock Fleur de Lis Accents back into the negative spaces of my doily adding a little bling into the centres.

On the top layer you will see I mounted one of the dies from the Royal Scandinavian Accents behind my Stitched Stacker to form a frame.

I absolutely adore the detail and elegance of the new Monarch Butterfly. I die cut it out twice in white cardstock inking the edges of my base layer. My top layer was heat embossed with Silver embossing powder and I placed a little glue into the centre and four corners of my Butterfly and layered onto my base layer. You will notice this gives a shadow effect to the wings and holds the curved shape in place.

I finished my card off with a small floral arrangement that I added stamens into the centre of my flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you joining in the Bi-Weekly Challenge with a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs. This fortnight the theme is Add a Flourish.

Documented Card

Hi Everyone, sorry I have been rather quiet in Blogland this week. One of my darling Siamese Cats - Simba took seriously ill over a week ago and has required 24 hour nursing, so all my energy has had to focus on him. I was back at the Vet yesterday and he now feels confident he will make a full recovery, I do hope so as he is a beloved member of our family. Today I am showcasing some more of the April 2015 New Release for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs as this week's challenge is - Make it Manly.

The French Flair Stackers have little piercing holes in them which compliments the new Pierced Banners and Pierced Stackers so well when layering up.

My ink pot I cut in patterned paper and added a little crackle glaze to it adding my feather which was cut out in patterned paper.

I added a little bling to my Fleur de Lis for interest.

I stamped my word Documented with Archival Ink. Notice also how the Lords and Commons Super Doily fits perfectly onto my Pierced Stackers.

Thanks for stopping by today I appreciate your visit and hope to pop by your Blog soon.
