Let's Celebrate - Special Delivery !

Hi Everyone, lovely to have you stop by my blog today. Over at A Vintage Journey we start a new challenge for the month of June hosted by the uber talented Sandy called Celebrations. Please hope over to the blog HERE to find out all the details and see what everyone in the team has been making.

I love these crazy bird stamps and the antics everyone gets them up to. With Sandy's theme and it being Spring Time I thought it apt for these little birds to have some babies, so we could celebrate their new arrivals.

I love to feed the birds in my garden and have a lot of empty coconut feeders, so I thought rather than put them in the bin to upcycle one into a little feature home for my birds.

I started by giving the inside of the shell a coat of Gesso and once dry I added a layer of TH Tissue wrap. Sanding around the outer shell once the Tissue Wrap had dried.

Next I added some Distress Paint.

My larger birds were stamped on Watercolour Paper and using a Waterbrush I shaded them with Distress Ink and added Glossy Accents to their beaks and eyes to help them pop forward.

The baby birds were stamped with Stazon Ink onto Shrink Plastic. I then coloured them with Prismacolor Pencils, trimming around them and shrinking in size with my heat gun. Aren't they cute !

My nest was some Hay spritz with Distress Sprays and dried with my heat gun. Although I wouldn't recommend doing this as I couldn't believe the smoke I had made in the house doing this LOL !

I added some little oval beads as extra eggs and some moss and feathers into their nest.

Special Delivery was stamped onto a Coffee Stirrer and shaded with Distress Ink and a couple of brads added to it.

Well I hope I have managed to inspire you to join in this months challenge and the winner will receive at £20 voucher to spend in Countryview Crafts where you will find a fab selection of Tim Goodies.

Looking forward to seeing your entry in our challenge.
