Joy to the World

Hi everyone and welcome to my DT post for Cheery Lynn Designs. Gosh I can't believe how fast we are now approaching the end of the year and it will soon be Thanksgiving Day for all our American friends. So today my card is inspired by this celebration.

I started by distressing my 2 layers of Maja Design papers at the edges and layered onto my card. I cut out my wreath in 3 shades of paper from the same pad, cutting 2 of my wreaths so they would stretch out a little larger than the base one. The cut was hidden by my drop shadowed reindeer.

My large sunflower was coloured with Copic Pens and Micro Beads added into the centre. The smaller sunflowers I added Flowersoft into the centres and also touches onto the wreath. My berries were coloured with Copic and 2 layers of Glossy accents added letting them dry between coats. Finishing with arranging my bouquet onto my card.

Happy Turkey Day

Hi everyone, today for my DT card over at Cheery Lynn Designs I am excited to be sharing another creation using dies from their latest release. This card measures 8" X 8" to give you an idea of the size.

For my Autumn/Fall foliage I cut out several leaves in White cardstock. I used Distress Sprays on them to get all the different shades. I layered onto corrugated card that had been sprinkled with some Frantage.

My Sunflowers were coloured with Distress inks and micro beads added to the centres.

My hazelnuts I double layered the base area and added a crackle glaze onto the nut area and once dry added a little Distress ink to highlight the cracks.

My berries were also coloured with Distress inks and two layers of Glossy Accents were added letting it dry in between.

I added my doily to the centre and arranged all my foliage and flowers gluing everything in place and finishing with my cute Turkey.

Cheery Lynn Designs - Whimsical Delights Blog Hop June 2016

Hi Everyone, Thanks for stopping by today. We are all so excited at Cheery Lynn Designs to be launching our new Whimsical Collection.

Today I am showcasing the adorable Lion, Cute Crocodile and the Tree of Life. I am first up on the blog hop but if you get a little lost on route please just hop back to Cheery Lynn Designs.

On my card I created a patchwork background highlighting my stitching with a Fineliner Pen. It sits perfectly inside my Scalloped Nesting Die.

My Sun was made using the Sunflower Die, shading with Distress Inks and adding a stamped sentiment and some Glossy Accents to the centre.

My Tree of Life was shaded with Copics and Distress inks adding some Stickles onto the leaves for added sparkle, finishing off with my Butterflies. I stamped swirls in the background for a cloud effect.

My lion was shaded with Distress Inks adding my Fineliner Pen onto the embossed areas on the face and feet. His mane and tail I added Earth Coloured Flowersoft onto for added texture. I layered his head on twice for more dimension and Black Liquid Pearls on his eyes.

My Crocodile was shaded with Copic Pens and Distress ink adding a Liquid Pearl to his eye and lots of bling.

I finished by mounting my animals onto my hills which I fussy cut the shape from my Stitched Stackers.

Happy Mothers Day

Hi Everyone, in the UK this weekend we celebrate Mother's Day, so for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I thought it would be nice to share some inspiration with you all.

I used this wonderful newly released Sunflower Die on my card. You will notice on this die cut you get the small seed box that is for the centre of your flower. Detail is always so important to Cheery Lynn and this is why I love their dies so much, as I can get such a realistic look onto my cards with their dies.

I started off my card by cutting out my Stitched Stacker in white cardstock, blending on Distress Inks and adding my stamped sentiment around the edges. Layering onto my brown cardstock , I tattered both layers at the edges for some added texture.

My terracotta pots were each die cut out twice and shaded with a brown Copic pen. I then pressed the die cuts into my Versamark Ink pad and added a mix of Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Powders, heat setting in place. I blended a little Black Archival Ink around the edges and onto the centre for an illusion of them curving. You will also notice I added on an extra layer just to the rim of the pot for an added 3D look. Finishing them off with a little grass at the base.

My Sunflower petals were shaded with a bright yellow Copic pen, with a little touch of a pale orange towards the centre. I shaped 3 flower head layers on my embossing mat and layered them onto my stem and leaves.

On my seed box part of the die I applied a generous amount of glue and poured on some Bronze Micro Beads. Once dry I dripped some Black Alcohol ink on to it to mimic my seeds. I placed in the centre of my Sunflower and then added some Earth coloured FlowerSoft around the outside of my seed box.

My Watering Can was altered using the same technique as HERE. My gardening spade and fork I coloured the handles with a brown Copic pen and used a peeled paint texture stamp and a little white Acrylic paint so it gave me the effect of the paint peeling off the handles. I used Versamark ink and Silver Embossing Powder on the spade and fork bases. Once this started to melt I sprinkled on a little Vintage Photo Distress Powder and continued to melt it, giving me a rusty worn look. I finished off my spade with a small garden bird.

My card was finished off by adding a Coffee Stirrer into my Terracotta Pot with a stamped sentiment.

Fathers Day Card

Hi Everyone, a week on Sunday marks the Celebration of Fathers Day in both the UK and USA, so I thought it would be nice to share my DT card for Cheery Lynn Designs this week. My Dad loves being out in his garden and his cat is not usually far away from him, so I decided to create this little scene on my card.
