Ornate Wedding Card

Hi Everyone, sorry I am behind catching up with your blogs this week, but haven't been too well. Thank goodness Chris does my photography and posting of my blog.

This week's Cheery Lynn Designs DT card I am showcasing the wonderfully romantic 'I do' die. This die has so much versatility for use on Wedding / Anniversary and Prom cards, but equally beautiful on a Scrapbook page or Gift Box.

Having worked with the new Alpine Flourish Doily on a few cards recently, I thought it would make a beautiful ornate window frame and compliment the happy couple. I love the result and hope you do too.

Let me talk you through how I made this. I layered 2 shades of grey card onto my 8x8 ready cut scalloped card, stamping a flourish stamp over the card for a little detail to the plain cardstock adding Stickles around the perimeter.

I made my flowers, mixing and matching the Tiny Flower Kit, adding stickles into the centres. My leaves and little flourishes on the Bride's bouquet and window box are pieced from the same die used in the corner of my card.

My window I layered a piece of grey card and lace behind it, adding on my window box and layering onto my Doily. Some of you will recognise the window part of the die as it normally is decorated with the Shutters at either side.

My Groom I edged with a little Iced Spruce Distress ink to highlight the edges. My Bride, I did the same using Tattered Rose, giving her a diamanté necklace, bouquet and veil. The veil was gathered with a little stitching at the top and her floral crown was made using a little strip of paper covered in flower soft. I mounted the couple onto my card using foam pads and a little silicone glue to hold her veil at the back. The veil, I secured on the front with small dots of glue which were then covered by Flower Soft to disguise.

Hope you all have a crafty weekend and I look forward  to catching up with your blogs soon as I'm up to it.

  8. Elegant, graceful and oh so romantic.
That touch of lace at the windows is adorable as are the flowers in the window box and how you have the Bride clutching a wedding bouquet and the flowers in her lace veil.
    Exquisite detailing.
