Kisses Card

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I have made a card using the beautiful Hummingbird die. Let me show you my layers on this card as I build it up.

In this photo you will see I have paper pieced in pale pink corners.

The corners were made using the Horizon Rectangle die that is in the centre of this photo.

My doily was cut in half and pieced behind my Sentiment Tag. This gave me an oval shape to it.

My Hummingbird was shaded with Distress ink and layered up twice for added dimension.

Finishing off my card with some Cheery Lynn flowers and the word Kisses.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely Weekend.

Tim's May 2015 Tag at A Vintage Journey

Hi Everyone and a warm welcome to my new followers. Today over at A Vintage Journey is Tag Friday, where some of us on the Design Team share a tag, so do pop over HERE to see all the fab creations.

I am sharing with you all today my tag for Tim's tags of 2015. I kept more or less to what Tim explained in the tutorial improvising on products I didn't have.

I used DCWV Gauze Paper for my background. My heart stencil had a mix of Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio added to it with a touch of Decoart Titan Buff to soften the colours slightly. I added a little painted frame on top of my photo with a tiny key.

My flowers were made using a Cheery Lynn Flower die and my ribbon a torn piece of cotton spritz with stain. Cracked Pistachio, Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass. My little shabby heart had a Rub on added onto it.

You still have a few days left to join in our Current Challenge Spring Colours, where you can win a £20 shopping spree at CountryViewCrafts.

Thanks for all your comments and wishes for Simba last week. He is finally getting stronger and eating a lot better now, which is so lovely to see. I'm sure it's true when they say a cat has nine lives !

Shabby Chic Butterflies

Hi Everyone, today is the start of a new challenge at That Craft Place called Shabby Chic and I am sharing with you my first DT Post with this wonderful team. I decided to make a wall hanging which measures 3 x 9 Inches.

I started by gluing on some Tissue wrap to my canvas crinkling it in areas and wrapping around the edges. I let this dry trimming off the excess tissue. Next I used my sanding block around the edges for a smooth finish.

Next adding some Crackle paste through my stencil and spreading some onto the sides and corners.

I also added some die cut strips and then started to add Lindys Stampgang Sprays - Tres Chic colour set, spraying layers and drying in between. I love how this sinks into my cracks on the paste.

Photo of more colours blended together.

I stamped my Tim Holtz Sentiment from the Perspectives Set onto a tissue with Black Archival Ink, tearing around the edges. This was then layered onto my canvas.

My die cut Butterflies were heat embossed using Lindys embossing powders also in the Tres Chic range, layering twice for extra dimension and a few pearls added which were shaded with Copics.

You will see on this close up my crackles and how I highlighted areas with Gilding Wax in a Rose Gold shade.

Another look at my finished Canvas.

Hope you have all enjoyed my post. Please stop by the blog to see what my other Teamies have been up to. On my sidebar you will see links to That Craft Place shop. It would also be lovely to have you join our friendly Natter and Chatter group.

Documented Card

Hi Everyone, sorry I have been rather quiet in Blogland this week. One of my darling Siamese Cats - Simba took seriously ill over a week ago and has required 24 hour nursing, so all my energy has had to focus on him. I was back at the Vet yesterday and he now feels confident he will make a full recovery, I do hope so as he is a beloved member of our family. Today I am showcasing some more of the April 2015 New Release for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs as this week's challenge is - Make it Manly.

The French Flair Stackers have little piercing holes in them which compliments the new Pierced Banners and Pierced Stackers so well when layering up.

My ink pot I cut in patterned paper and added a little crackle glaze to it adding my feather which was cut out in patterned paper.

I added a little bling to my Fleur de Lis for interest.

I stamped my word Documented with Archival Ink. Notice also how the Lords and Commons Super Doily fits perfectly onto my Pierced Stackers.

Thanks for stopping by today I appreciate your visit and hope to pop by your Blog soon.

Live, Laugh and Love card and Exciting News to Share

Hi Everyone, today for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing with you a card which was initially all cut out in White Card Stock. I then selected some feminine vintage shades in Distress Ink to define my layers.

This photo shows the start of my layers and you can see I have layered the Circle Classic die on top before layering on my next Doily.

Notice the lace design now pops forward in the centre.

Close Up of my Sunflower.

And now for the exciting news I have been patiently waiting to share with you all. I recently applied to be on the talented Design Team at That Craft Place and was lucky enough to be chosen to be on their Mixed Media team and will post a project monthly for them. Hope you can join me next Sunday when I share my first post with them.

With Love card

Hi Everyone,  today for my Cheery Lynn Designs DT card I am showcasing the new Lords and Commons Super Doily which compliments the other dies in the Lords and Commons range.

Let me show you my layers. I cut out my Stacker Frame and and then placed my Super Doily into this frame aligning up and holding it in place with low tack tape. I then shaded the edges with Milled Lavender and mounted onto Lilac Cardstock.

Next I replaced my doilies back into the centre of my card.

I cut out another Super Doily and added a square of lilac paper behind it. You will see I mounted this at a different angle and layered on my Shasta Daisy which had been shaded with ink and a little Flower Soft added to the centre.

To finish off my card I added the sentiment With Love, a few pearls and the little heart shapes from the waste of my Stacker Frame to the corners.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Little Birdhouse

Hi Everyone, today I am sharing with you a small balsawood birdhouse which measures approximately 3" x 5" high, that I got from Michaels in San Diego recently. Yes I hear you asking, when did you go there ? Well both of my daughters work in the Airline Industry and I came up with the idea I could go virtual shopping when they came across a craft shop, isn't technology amazing ! So they simply Face Time me and walk around the craft shop showing me things I would like. Isn't that a COOL idea !

The shape of this sweet little birdhouse caught my eye and I knew straight away what I wanted to do with it.

I wrapped garden string all around the roof gluing as I went, giving it a coat of Multi Medium to seal it.

I wanted a brick effect on my house and with a stencil just not being practical to place on the shapes I decided to make my own bricks out of packaging from my Tim Holtz Stencils.

I started laying my bricks pushing into Texture Paste similar to laying tiles and this is the finished effect.

My fence is a Magnolia die. My grass and tiny flowers are from Cheery Lynn.

I decorated my die cut fence colouring my flowers with Copics and shading my fence with Distress before adding to my house.

I then added a little Flower Soft to the base to look like grass.

My little Doves were a wooden die cut. I heat embossed some Lindys Embossing Powders into and added a little Distress Paint to shabby it up.

My birds are from Cheery Lynn's Bird Bath (Set of 2)

My branches were all shaded with Copics and my Blossom flowers added.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I have some more Birdhouses of different sizes which I will be decorating shortly.

Birdhouse Card

Hi Everyone, I immediately fell in love with the new Fancy Birdhouse die from Cheery Lynn Designs as soon as I saw it and gathered inspiration for my 7 x 7 card from feeding all the birds that visit my garden, so I am sharing with you my DT card this week for Cheery Lynn Designs.

My background was made with shading Distress inks over cardstock, stamping on feathers to give a cloud effect and spritzing with water. I tattered the edges with a Distress Tool.

I layered my grass in two shades of green and shaded a little Distress Ink onto my fence to shabby it up a bit.

My Birdbath was layered twice with a little Silicone Glue added into the bath part to give some extra dimension and Distress ink added to it and my birds for shading.

My sign was cut out in white and the pole area coloured with a Black Copic Pen. I layered the oval area twice with Silicone Glue and stamped on my sentiment and added a little bird.

My branches and leaves were all shaded with Copic Pens and my Blossom had a little Distress Ink added into the centre with a little yellow Stickles.

My sun is made using the Sunflower die, colouring also with Copics and adding a little orange Stickles. My Birdhouse was cut out 3 times and shaded with Distress ink. I paper pieced the fence area twice and my roof three times to give the effect of being 3D.

Well I do hope you like my card which was a lot of fun to make. I have another few plans for the Fancy Birdhouse die which I will share with you over the coming months.

Thanks for stopping by today, your visits are always appreciated.
