New Release Cheery Lynn Designs July 2015

Hi Everyone, Today is the launch of the Cheery Lynn Designs July 2015 release of new dies. This launch showcases amazing Halloween, Christmas and New Word dies to name a few. Please head over HERE to see what my Teamies have also been making with the new dies.

I have 2 projects to show you today, the first one is a Trick or Treat bag which I'm sure would be lovely to give to extra special Halloween visitors. I started off with a paper bag measuring approximately 5" x 7" excluding the handles. I cut a piece of patterned paper, rubbed over some Picket Fence Distress stain to pale down the strong colours and give a shabby feel, adding some stitching around it and distressing the edges.

The spiders web is a corner die which comes with the Spider. I cut my web 4 times to form a full web layering in 2 colours for an extra creepy feel and to highlight the black from the web. My spiders I also double layered with green.

For my Trick or Treat sign I added Red Stickles and once dry I added Glossy Accents over the top to give a look of dripping blood. I then Layered on to white card for a shadow effect.

My Trick or Treat border I also layered twice for a shadow effect, aren't they so cute !

Finishing with my Pumpkin and a netted bow.

My next card showcases this cute Koala Bear. I decided to give him a cute and cuddly feel as I thought he would look lovely on a baby style card. I layered up my die cuts adding a little distress ink to them.

I trimmed my French lattice frame to fit behind the back of my Dutch Scallop frame for added detail.

My Koala was layered twice, coloured with Copics and a little Silicone Glue added behind his nose.

To finish off I added a bow with a flower in the centre.

Kisses Card

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I have made a card using the beautiful Hummingbird die. Let me show you my layers on this card as I build it up.

In this photo you will see I have paper pieced in pale pink corners.

The corners were made using the Horizon Rectangle die that is in the centre of this photo.

My doily was cut in half and pieced behind my Sentiment Tag. This gave me an oval shape to it.

My Hummingbird was shaded with Distress ink and layered up twice for added dimension.

Finishing off my card with some Cheery Lynn flowers and the word Kisses.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely Weekend.

Thank You Gift Card

Hi Everyone, thanks for your continued support with comments especially with me running behind with all your lovely blogs. Today, I am delighted to be sharing my post as a Guest Designer at Craft Hoarders Anonymous after my win with my Cherub Keepsake Box here.
The challenge is 'For all that you do,Thank you'. It describes to make a Thank you gift for this challenge, a hostess gift or a simple thank you card.

My mum asked me around the same time to make a Thank you card for her friend she had stayed with recently in Finland. She explained to me she adored the vintage style, lace, pearls and a very ornate look. I decided to make an easel card and inside the little gift box I placed some Post - it notes. This way she could have it on display and always know where to get a bit paper if needed.

My image is from Pion and my papers are all Maja.

My box I made using my Scorpal board. Sorry I can't show you inside, I realised I didn't have this photo and it is now in Finland.

My die cuts are all Cheery Lynn and the lace is from my craft stash.

Please pop over to Craft Hoarders Anonymous to see the talented Design Team's post of inspiration for this challenge which started last week and you will also see a variety of Guest Designers posting at the same time as myself. Good luck to everyone entering their challenge.

Lace Wardrobe Style Card

Hi everyone,
For my DT card this week I thought I would showcase how versatile Cheery Lynn doilies can be in making beautiful accents and patterns on our craft projects.
The Anastasia border matches the Kiwi doily die perfectly so are great to use together, especially when making a real feature with them, like I am doing with this card.

On the opening of my card you will see the border strips, I love the lace effect. You will also see my doily cut into corners and halved. I matted and layered onto papers.

My flowers were made by cutting them out in same pale green card stock as the swirls and background but I stamped a little gesso onto them and rubbed the edges too with gesso before making them up, to give a shabby feel.

The inside of my card compliments the outside and I embellished with a few pearls to finish.

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card.

Doily Flower Card

Hello there my Blogging friends, where does time fly to, I can't believe we have almost been home a week from our break in Majorca, but the good news is I think we brought the sunshine home with us as it has been the most beautiful week here in Scotland.
Yesterday I went around our local Garden Centre with my Mum and at this time of year it's full of so much inspiration seeing all the gorgeous flowers in full bloom. I am still playing catch up trying to visit everyone's blog so please bear with me.
This week for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs is a card for a Birthday which would be suitable for a variety of occasions by simply changing the wording with Cheery Lynn word dies.

My flowers were cut out using white cardstock and inked to shade them. I layered various leaves and my tiny flourishes to form an arrangement on my card. My doily I also inked and added the Angel wing die offset to the back of the doily to make everything POP. You will see my Border strip was also inked in two shades and matches my Doily.

Hope you all have a beautiful sunny weekend wherever you may be. Thanks to everyone who left comments on my last card while I was on Holiday, much appreciated.

Thinking of You

Hello there Blogging friends.
For my DT post over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week I made a Thinking of You card which could easily adapt to many different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card. I used the Square Classic to cut out all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the dies do the job for you.

You still have time to enter the Cheery Lynn Challenge this week -  Roses, and win a Shopping Spree of $20.  Make sure you use at least one Cheery Lynn die to enter.

I’d love if you left me a comment to let me know you stopped by.
Enjoy your weekend,

 Julie x
